Description
San Diego County : Warner Springs
I woke up very early to catch the spring blooms multiplying around Anza Borrego's hills and valleys. On my way however I hit an unexpected snowstorm; when my car's wheels lost traction on the uphill approach to Ranchita I retreated to Warner Springs for a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail.
As I began my walk the snow lightened, reduced to a few thick feathers carried slowly in the breeze before stopping altogether. Wide plains that had already clothed their gentle slopes in spring green were transformed into an icy, slushy mess around my feet. Looking west I saw a part in heavy clouds with falling sleet ignited over Palomar Mountain by the rising sun.

Thanks Harry, guess I should be glad I couldn't get to the desert that morning!

Wonderful panorama! I really like the light in the background and the clouds that frame the tree.
